In this excerpt from an interview with Life Arts Media, Grandmaster Wong Kew Kit discusses how the practice of qigong, with its roots in Taoism and Buddhism, can benefit anyone regardless of their faith.

Although primarily Western people regard Taoism and Buddhism as religions, Wong Kew Kit emphasizes that many people in Asia consider them as ‘teachings’ rather than religions, and practice their related arts mainly to achieve health and vitality; nevertheless who practices disciplines like qigong will soon benefit also of the spiritual effects of the ‘cultivation’, regardless of their religion, as the latter become an ‘alive’ experience.

Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit is the fourth generation successor of the Venerable Master Jiang Nan of the famous Chinese Shaolin Temple and Grandmaster of the Shaolin WahNam Institute. He was honoured at the 2nd World Qigong Congress for his publications: “Shaolin Chi Kung, an answer to incurable disease” and “Shaolin Chi Kung for stress management and peak performance”.
